About Ammie

Style:
Ammie takes a refreshing approach in her style of teaching, bringing to each class not only the knowledge of anatomy but also encouraging inner reflection.

Yoga Training:
In 2003, whilst in Bangalore, India, Ammie trained at the Vivekananda Yoga Mahavidyapeetham in general and remedial yoga. Also in 2003, whilst in Mysore, India, she trained a further six months in the Iyengar system at the Atma Vikasa Center of yogic sciences.

Ammie has also undertaken teacher training with Prajna Yoga center in New Mexico. It was here under the guidance of an internationally acclaimed guru, Tias Little, she learnt a lot more about structure and alignment.

In 2005, Ammie gained accreditation to teach under the governing body, British Wheel of Yoga (BWY).

Ammie is also a fully qualified Antenatal yoga instructor running courses in pregnancy yoga. She encourages women to explore different positions and postures that can be used in labour and more importantly aids students to tune in to and work with their breath. She teaches breathing techniques, which may facilitate greater control of the breath in labour. Ammie also brings in her expertise from her background in massage and reflexology, she teaches women massage techniques that can be used in labour. These Classes help women to prepare their body, mind and soul for the birth of their baby.
